Youth Leadership Institute

2010 Youth Leadership Institute participants

The Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) is a three-day hands-on training experience for Alaska High School students who aspire to be leaders in their schools and communities.  YLI takes place each year in conjunction with our annual conference in Anchorage.

Participants have the opportunity to:

• Learn and practice leadership skills
• Participate in various hands-on activities
• Commit to using leadership skills in their communities
• Connect with emerging young leaders from across the state
• Join in conversations and sessions with school board members

Who should attend?

• High School students, especially underclassmen
• Students interested in developing leadership skills
• Students willing to practice skills from the institute in their schools and communities
